2. Which type of care funding do I need?

If you (or someone you care for) have a ‘primary health care need’ the NHS should pay for the care in full. This means that your care needs are mostly health care. This is called Continuing Health Care funding (CHC).

If you (or someone you care for) mostly needs support with daily living but has some health care needs, the local authority should pay for their care in full.

In some cases, a person will need both types of care funding.
