3. What is NHS Continuing Health Care (CHC)?

NHS Continuing Health Care (CHC) is the term used to describe a package of care that is fully paid for by the NHS.

It is for adults with long-term, complex health needs.

Healthcare in the UK is free, when you get it from a hospital GP or community nurse or in hospital, but CHC is different and covers other costs that you might need otherwise need to pay for. This could be things like carers that come in to your home, or the fees for living in a care home.
